THE DEVELOPMENT ABILITY IN READING AND WRITING BASIC THAI WORDS USING THE SQ3R TECHNIQUE FOR FOURTH-GRADE STUDENTS

Abstract

This study had the following objectives: (1) to develop Thai basic word reading ability using the SQ3R instructional management technique so that students achieve an average score of not less than 70 percent, with at least 70 percent of students meeting the criterion; and (2) to develop Thai basic word writing ability using the SQ3R instructional management technique so that students achieve an average score of not less than 70 percent, with at least 70 percent of students meeting the criterion. The research employed a one-group research design, specifically a one-shot case study. The target group consisted of 9 Grade 4 students. The research instruments included six lesson plans using the SQ3R technique, totaling 12 instructional hours, as well as a Thai basic word reading ability test and a Thai basic word writing ability test. The statistics used for data analysis were mean, standard deviation (S.D.), and percentage. The results revealed that Grade 4 students had an average reading ability score of 16.78 points, accounting for 83.89 percent of the total score. Eight students, representing 88.89 percent of the total number of students, met the criterion. For writing ability, students also obtained an average score of 16.78 points, accounting for 83.89 percent of the total score, with eight students (88.89 percent) meeting the criterion. Both reading and writing abilities showed that the proportion of students passing the 70 percent criterion exceeded the required threshold, indicating that the study achieved all its stated objectives.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังนี้ 1)เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการอ่านคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทย โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้เทคนิค SQ3R ให้มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยไม่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 70 และมีนักเรียนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 ขึ้นไป 2)เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการเขียนคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทย โดยใช้การจัดการเรียนรู้เทคนิค SQ3R ให้มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยไม่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 70 และมีนักเรียนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 ขึ้นไป รูปแบบการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยแบบกลุ่มเดียวหรือรายกรณี (One-shot case study) กลุ่มเป้าหมายที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 จำนวน 9 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เทคนิค SQ3R จำนวน 6 แผน รวมเวลา 12 ชั่วโมง แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทยและแบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการเขียนคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทย สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) และค่าร้อยละ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 มีความสามารถในการอ่านคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทยมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 16.78 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 83.89 ของคะแนนเต็ม และมีจำนวนนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์จำนวน 8 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 88.89 ของจำนวนนักเรียนทั้งหมด และความสามารถในการเขียนคำพื้นฐานภาษาไทยมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 16.78 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 83.89 ของคะแนนเต็ม และมีจำนวนนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์จำนวน 8 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 88.89 ของจำนวนนักเรียนทั้งหมด ซึ่งทั้งสองด้านมีจำนวนนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 70 ทั้งสองด้าน ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ที่กำหนดไว้และบรรลุตามวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยที่ตั้งไว้ทุกประการ
