THE ROLE OF PHRA YOTKEO MAHASANGHA SUDHAMMADHIPATI RATANA MAHASANGHAPAMOKKHA (MAHA NGON DAMRONGBOUN) ACCORDING TO THE LAO SANGHA CONSTITUTION

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) study the role of Buddhist monks as defined by the Lao Sangha Constitution; 2) investigate the role of Phra Yotkeo Mahasangha Sudhammadhipati Ratana Mahasanghapamokkha (Maha Ngon Damrongboun); and 3) analyze the role of Phra Yotkeo Mahasangha Sudhammadhipati Ratana Mahasanghapamokkha (Maha Ngon Damrongboun) about the Lao Sangha Constitution. This qualitative study employed documentary research, gathering data from the Lao Sangha Constitution, Tipitaka, books, research papers, articles, journals, and other relevant research documents.The research revealed the following: 1) The Lao Sangha Constitution outlines five primary missions for Buddhist monks: monastic administration, education, dissemination of ethics and meditation practice, public welfare, and international relations, in addition to one administrative office.2) Phra Yotkeo Mahasangha Sudhammadhipati Ratana Mahasanghapamokkha (Maha Ngon Damrongboun), the 5th former President of the Central Buddhist Fellowship Organization of Lao PDR, former President of the Lao Buddhist Fellowship Organization in Savannakhet Province, and former abbot of Wat Yai Chaiyaphumarama in Kaisone Phomvihane City, Savannakhet Province, played a significant role in all areas prescribed by the Lao Sangha Constitution. His prominent contributions included integrating the Dhamma-Vinaya with the Lao Sangha Constitution, reforming the monastic education system, applying Buddhist principles to contemporary social contexts, developing public infrastructure for community benefit, and fostering strong relationships with international Buddhist organizations.3) The analysis of Phra Yotkeo Mahasangha Sudhammadhipati Ratana Mahasanghapamokkha (Maha Ngon Damrongboun)'s role encompassed: monastic administration, monastic education, dissemination of ethics, meditation practice, public welfare, and international relations. He served as an exemplary monk, strictly adhering to the Dhamma-Vinaya and making significant contributions to social development for the well-being and happiness of the public.

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์ดังนี้ 1) เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทพระสงฆ์ตามธรรมนูญสงฆ์ลาว 2) เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทของพระยอดแก้วมหาสังฆสุธรรมาธิบดีรัตนมหาสังฆปาโมกข์ (มหางอน ดำรงบุญ) 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์บทบาทตามธรรมนูญสงฆ์ลาวของพระยอดแก้วมหาสังฆสุธรรมาธิบดีรัตนมหาสังฆปาโมกข์ (มหางอน ดำรงบุญ) เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพเอกสารต่าง ๆ มีวิธีการดำเนินการวิจัย คือ ศึกษาข้อมูลจากธรรมนูญสงห์ลาว พระไตรปิฎก หนังสือ งานวิจัย บทความ วารสาร และเอกสารงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องผลการวิจัยพบว่า :1) บทบาทของธรรมนูญสงฆ์ลาวได้กำหนดภารกิจหลักของพระสงฆ์ไว้ 5 ด้าน ได้แก่ ด้านการปกครองสงฆ์ ด้านการศึกษาสงฆ์ ด้านการเผยแผ่ศีลธรรมและปฏิบัติกรรมฐาน ด้านสาธารณูปการ และด้านการต่างประเทศ และ 1 ห้องการบริหารงาน (สำนักงาน)2) บทบาทของพระยอดแก้วมหาสังฆสุธรรมาธิบดีรัตนมหาสังฆปาโมกข์ (มหางอน ดำรงบุญ) อดีตประธานศูนย์กลางองค์การพุทธศาสนาสัมพันธ์แห่ง สปป. ลาว รูปที่ 5 อดีตประธานองค์การพุทธศาสนาสัมพันธ์ลาว แขวงสะหวันนะเขต และอดีตเจ้าอาวาสวัดใหญ่ไชยภูมาราม นครไกสอนพมวิหาน แขวงสะหวันนะเขต ได้แสดงบทบาทสำคัญในทุกด้านตามที่กำหนดไว้ในธรรมนูญสงฆ์ลาว โดยมีบทบาทโดดเด่นในการบูรณาการระหว่างพระธรรมวินัยกับธรรมนูญสงฆ์ลาว การปฏิรูประบบการศึกษาสงฆ์ การประยุกต์หลักธรรมให้เข้ากับบริบทสังคมปัจจุบัน การพัฒนาสาธารณูปโภคเพื่อประโยชน์ของชุมชน และการสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีกับองค์กรพระพุทธศาสนาในต่างประเทศ3) ผลวิเคราะห์บทบาทของพระยอดแก้วมหาสังฆสุธรรมาธิบดีรัตนมหาสังฆปาโมกข์ (มหางอน ดำรงบุญ) ได้แก่ บทบาทด้านการปกครองสงฆ์ บทบาทด้านการศึกษาสงฆ์ บทบาทด้านการเผยแผ่ศีลธรรมและปฏิบัติกรรมฐาน บทบาทด้านสาธารณูปการ และบทบาทด้านการต่างประเทศ ท่านเป็นแบบอย่างของพระสงฆ์ที่ปฏิบัติตามหลักพระธรรมวินัยอย่างเคร่งครัดและมีบทบาทสำคัญในการพัฒนาสังคมเพื่อประโยชน์และความสุขแก่มหาชน
