The Living Based on the Principles of Ditthadhammikattha in Khong Khud Subdistrict Municipality, Mueang Satun District, Satun Province

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the way of life of the people in Khlong Khut Subdistrict Municipality, Satun Province, based on the principles of the Four Bases of Present Welfare (Diṭṭhadhammikattha-sampadā), and to compare such ways of life by gender, age, educational level, occupation, and annual income. A mixed-methods approach was employed. Quantitative data were collected from 392 residents using a questionnaire, while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five community leaders. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA, whereas qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis. The research findings revealed that: 1. Overall, the way of life based on the Four Bases of Present Welfare among the people in Khlong Khut Subdistrict Municipality was at a moderate level across all four dimensions. When considered individually, diligence and perseverance showed the highest mean score, followed by the protection of wealth, association with virtuous friends, and balanced and appropriate livelihood. 2. The comparative analysis indicated that differences in gender and educational level did not result in significant differences in living according to the principles of the Four Bases of Present Welfare. However, differences in age, occupation, and annual income were associated with statistically significant differences in such ways of life. The key finding of this study is that the Four Bases of Present Welfare contribute to the sustainable improvement of quality of life and economic well-being of the people in the Khlong Khut community. These principles are not limited to the individual dimension but also serve as important driving forces for local development. This is consistent with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in terms of poverty eradication, economic security, the promotion of a moral society, and environmental conservation. As a result, the people of Khlong Khut can lead stable lives with a good quality of life and move toward sustainable community-level development.

บทความวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ของประชาชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุด อำเภอเมืองสตูล จังหวัดสตูล และ เพื่อเปรียบเทียบการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ของประชาชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุด อำเภอเมืองสตูล จังหวัดสตูล เมื่อจำแนกตามเพศ อายุ ระดับการศึกษา อาชีพและรายได้ต่อปี เป็นการวิจัยเชิงเชิงปริมาณและคุณภาพ โดยเก็บข้อมูลกับประชาชนเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุด จำนวน 392 คน และสัมภาษณ์ผู้นำชุมชน จำนวน 5 คน และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยสถิติพรรณาได้แก่ จำนวน ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยและส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน ส่วนการทดสอบสมมติฐานใช้ t-test และ One-Way ANOVA ส่วนข้อมูลคุณภาพวิเคราะห์เนื้อหาผลการวิจัยพบว่า : 1. การดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ในเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุด โดยรวมทั้ง 4 ด้าน อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้าน พบว่า ด้านความขยันหมั่นเพียรมีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด ด้านการรักษาทรัพย์สินให้มั่นคง ด้านการคบหากัลยาณมิตรและด้านการดำรงชีวิตอย่างเหมาะสม2. ผลการเปรียบเทียบการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ในเขตเทศบาล ตำบลคลองขุด พบว่า ประชาชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุดที่มีเพศ ระดับการศึกษาต่างกัน มีการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ไม่แตกต่างกัน ส่วนประชาชนในเขตเทศบาลตำบลคลองขุดที่มีอายุ อาชีพและรายได้ต่อปีต่างกันมีการดำเนินชีวิตตามหลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์แตกต่างกันข้อค้นพบที่สำคัญคือ หลักทิฏฐธัมมิกัตถประโยชน์ 4 ทำให้พัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตและเศรษฐกิจของประชาชนในชุมชนคลองขุดได้อย่างยั่งยืนโดยมิได้จำกัดเฉพาะมิติส่วนบุคคล หากแต่เป็นสิ่งที่ช่วยขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาท้องถิ่นซึ่งสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) ทั้งด้านการขจัดความยากจน ความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจ การสร้างสังคมคุณธรรมและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม ทำให้ประชาชนชาวคลองขุดสามารถดำรงชีวิตอย่างมั่นคง มีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีและก้าวสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนในระดับชุมชน
