The Development of Reading Interpretation and Analytical Thinking Abilities Using the KWL Plus Technique for Eighth-Grade Students

Abstract

The objectives The objectives of this research were: 1) to develop interpretive reading ability using the KWL-Plus learning technique for Grade 8 students, aiming for an average score of no less than 75% and a minimum of 75% of students passing the criteria; and 2) to develop analytical thinking in interpretive reading using the KWL-Plus learning technique for Grade 8 students, also aiming for an average score of no less than 75% and a minimum of 75% of students passing the criteria. The research design employed a one-shot case study model. The sample consisted of 32 Grade 8/1 students. The research instruments included 6 KWL-Plus learning management plans (totaling 12 hours), an interpretive reading ability test, and an analytical thinking ability test. Data were analyzed using statistics such as mean, standard deviation (S.D.), and percentage. The research results revealed the following: Interpretive Reading Ability: Grade 8 students achieved an average score of 15.94 (79.69%), with 27 students (84.38%) passing the criteria. Analytical Thinking Ability: Students achieved an average score of 23.94 (79.79%), with 27 students (84.38%) passing the criteria.In conclusion, the performance in both areas exceeded the 75% threshold, surpassing the established criteria and successfully achieving all research objectives

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังนี้ 1) เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถการอ่านตีความ โดยใช้รูปแบบการจัดการเรียนรู้เทคนิค KWL-Plus สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ให้นักเรียน มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยไม่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 75 และมีนักเรียนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 ขึ้นไป 2) เพื่อพัฒนาความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์การอ่านตีความ โดยใช้รูปแบบการจัดการเรียนรู้เทคนิค KWL-Plus สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 ให้นักเรียนมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยไม่น้อยกว่าร้อยละ 75 และมีนักเรียนผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 ขึ้นไป รูปแบบการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยแบบกลุ่มเดียวหรือ รายกรณี (One-shot case study) กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยคือนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2/1 จำนวน 32 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยประกอบด้วย แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้เทคนิค KWL-Plus จำนวน 6 แผน รวมเวลา 12 ชั่วโมง แบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการอ่านตีความและแบบทดสอบวัดความสามารถในการคิดวิเคราะห์ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) และค่าร้อยละ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 มีความสามารถในการอ่านตีความมีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 15.94 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 79.69 ของคะแนนเต็ม และมีจำนวนนักเรียน ที่ผ่านเกณฑ์จำนวน 27 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 84.38 ของจำนวนนักเรียนทั้งหมด และความสามารถ ในการคิดวิเคราะห์มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 23.94 คะแนน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 79.79 ของคะแนนเต็ม และมีจำนวนนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์จำนวน 27 คน คิดเป็นร้อยละ 84.38 ของจำนวนนักเรียนทั้งหมด ซึ่งทั้งสองด้านมีจำนวนนักเรียนที่ผ่านเกณฑ์ร้อยละ 75 ทั้งสองด้าน ซึ่งสูงกว่าเกณฑ์ ที่กำหนดไว้และบรรลุตามวัตถุประสงค์การวิจัยที่ตั้งไว้ทุกประการ
