THE ROLE OF THE COMMUNITY IN DRIVING THE 'WAT PRACHA RAT SANG SUK' PROJECT AT WAT CHAINA, MUEANG DISTRICT, NAKHON SI THAMMARAT PROVINCE.

Abstract

This thesis has the following objectives: 1) To study theoretical concepts related to the role of the community. 2) To study the Wat Pracharat Sang Suk Project. 3) To analyze the role of the community in driving the Wat Pracharat Sang Suk Project at Wat Chai Na, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. This study employed a qualitative research approach and utilized an interview schedule as the research instrument.The research findings were as follows:1) The community plays a highly significant role in driving the “Wat, Pracharat, Sangsuk” project, serving as the principal mechanism in co-thinking, co-planning, co-implementation, co-monitoring, and co-evaluation, thereby enabling the project to be carried out in a concrete and continuous manner. The community also acts as a coordinating force among the temple, government agencies, and local residents. As a result, activities related to religion, morality, ethics, environment, and public benefit are implemented in ways that are consistent with the community context and the needs of the people, fostering a shared sense of ownership, unity, faith, and inner community strength.2) The Seven Sappāya Principles can be appropriately applied to the implementation of the project, particularly in terms of residential suitability (Āvāsa-sappāya), personal suitability (Puggala-sappāya), communicative suitability (Bhassa-sappāya), and doctrinal suitability (Dhamma-sappāya). These principles play an important role in creating a temple environment that is clean, peaceful, and conducive to religious practice and community activities. They also help strengthen positive relationships, supportive communication, and constructive participation among all sectors, thereby enabling the temple to serve as a center of learning, moral development, and community well-being.3) The findings further reveal that, in the case study of Wat Chai Na, Mueang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, the community demonstrated a prominent role in participatory planning, joint implementation of activities with the temple, promotion of morality and environmental development, as well as communication and the building of cooperative networks with government agencies and the public sector. Consequently, the “Wat, Pracharat, Sangsuk” project was able to be driven effectively, generating benefits for the community in physical, mental, social, and environmental dimensions, leading to happiness, solidarity, and sustainable community development.

วิทยานิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ ดังนี้ 1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดทฤษฎีเกี่ยวกับบทบาทของชุมชน 2) เพื่อศึกษาโครงการวัด ประชารัฐ สร้างสุข 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์บทบาทของชุมชนในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการวัด ประชารัฐ สร้างสุข วัดชายนา อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช การศึกษานี้ได้ดำเนินการวิจัยแบบเชิงคุณภาพ (Qualitative Research) ใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์ (Interview Schedule) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ชุมชนมีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการ “วัด ประชารัฐ สร้างสุข” โดยทำหน้าที่เป็นกลไกหลักในการร่วมคิด ร่วมวางแผน ร่วมดำเนินงาน ร่วมติดตาม และร่วมประเมินผล ทำให้โครงการสามารถดำเนินไปอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและต่อเนื่อง ชุมชนยังทำหน้าที่เชื่อมประสานความร่วมมือระหว่างวัด หน่วยงานภาครัฐ และประชาชนในพื้นที่ ส่งผลให้การดำเนินกิจกรรมด้านศาสนา คุณธรรม จริยธรรม สิ่งแวดล้อม และสาธารณประโยชน์ สอดคล้องกับบริบทของชุมชนและความต้องการของประชาชน ก่อให้เกิดความรู้สึกเป็นเจ้าของร่วมกัน ความสามัคคี ความศรัทธา และความเข้มแข็งของชุมชนจากภายใน2) หลักสัปปายะ 7 สามารถนำมาประยุกต์ใช้ในการขับเคลื่อนโครงการได้อย่างเหมาะสม โดยเฉพาะด้านอาวาสสัปปายะ ปุคคลสัปปายะ ภัสสสัปปายะ และธรรมสัปปายะ ซึ่งมีส่วนสำคัญต่อการจัดสภาพแวดล้อมของวัดให้สะอาด ร่มรื่น เอื้อต่อการปฏิบัติธรรมและกิจกรรมของชุมชน รวมทั้งช่วยเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที่ดี การสื่อสารอย่างเกื้อกูล และการมีส่วนร่วมอย่างสร้างสรรค์ของทุกภาคส่วน ทำให้วัดเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ การพัฒนาคุณธรรม และการเสริมสร้างสุขภาวะของชุมชน3) ผลการวิเคราะห์สะท้อนว่า กรณีศึกษาวัดชายนา อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช พบว่า ชุมชนมีบทบาทเด่นชัดในด้านการมีส่วนร่วมในการวางแผน การดำเนินกิจกรรมร่วมกับวัด การส่งเสริมศีลธรรมและสิ่งแวดล้อม ตลอดจนการสื่อสารและสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือกับภาครัฐและภาคประชาชน ส่งผลให้โครงการวัด ประชารัฐ สร้างสุข สามารถขับเคลื่อนได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เกิดประโยชน์ต่อชุมชนทั้งด้านกาย จิตใจ สังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อม อันนำไปสู่ความสุข ความสามัคคี และความยั่งยืนของชุมชน
