THE METHODS FOR  PROPAGATION OF BUDDHISM BY PHRA AJARN MUN BHURIDATTO  ACCORDING TO THE NEW LEARNING PARADIGM

Abstract

This research has the following objectives: 1) to examine the theoretical concepts of Buddhist propagation according to the new learning paradigm; 2) to investigate the methods of Buddhist propagation employed by Phra Ajahn Mun Bhuridatto; 3) to analyze Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto methods of Buddhist propagation in according with the new paradigm; and 4) to propose a body of knowledge concerning Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto's methods of Buddhist propagation aligned with the new paradigm. This study is a qualitative research. Data were collected from 20 qualified key informants/experts and analyzed through descriptive content analysis. The results of the study revealed that: The theoretical framework for the propagation of Buddhism under the new paradigm introduces a contemporary approach that responds to the changing era. It emphasizes five key methodological tools: 1) the use of simple and accessible language, 2) the application of Dhamma principles in harmony with social issues, 3) the establishment of Buddhist communities, 4) Buddhist Interdisciplinarity, and 5) the utilization of digital media. The methods employed by Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto for propagating Buddhism emphasized the revival of authentic practice in accordance with the original teachings, with the ultimate aim of preserving the Buddhist. These methods consist of four main forms: 1) Strict adherence to the Dhamma-Vinaya, 2) the observance of the dhutaṅga practices, 3) the practice of wandering in various places, and 4) the cultivation of high-quality Dhamma heirs. Analyzing Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto's methods of Buddhist propagation through the lens of a new paradigm involves adapting his core practices to contemporary contexts while strictly upholding the Dhamma-Vinaya as an developing instrument of wisdom. Within this framework, the regular observance of dhutaṅga practices is integrated with mental health care, applying Dhamma principles to foster Buddhist communities. Furthermore, the practice of wandering in various places serves as a form of spiritual academic service, thereby broadening access to Buddhism across diverse segments of society. Ultimately by, the cultivation of high-quality Dhamma heirs emphasizes the development of leaders who possess exceptional emotional intelligence and utilize digital media to maximize the effectiveness of propagation. The body of knowledge concerning the methods for the propagation of Buddhism by Phra Ajarn Mun Bhuridatto according to the new paradigm is presented in SDAC Model, which consists of: S – (Self-Realization) cultivating self-awareness, D – (Disciples Training) training disciples to be steadfast in the Dhamma, A – (Adaptable Teaching) adjusting pedagogy appropriate, and C – (Community Engagement) fostering active involvement with the wider community.

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาแนวคิดทฤษฎีการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาตามแนวกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ 2) เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทตฺโต 3) เพื่อวิเคราะห์รูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทตฺโต ตามแนวกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ 4) เพื่อนำเสนอองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับรูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทตฺโต ตามแนวกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจำนวน 20 รูป/คน วิเคราะห์เนื้อหาข้อมูลโดยวิธีการเชิงพรรณนาผลการศึกษาวิจัย พบว่า แนวคิดทฤษฎีการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาตามแนวกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ เป็นการนำเสนอแนวทางใหม่ให้สอดคล้องกับสมัยที่เปลี่ยนแปลง โดยวิธีการรูปแบบใหม่มาใช้เป็นเครื่องมือหลัก 5 ประการ 1) การใช้ภาษาที่เข้าใจง่าย 2) การใช้หลักธรรมที่สอดคล้องกับปัญหาสังคม 3) การสร้างชุมชนชาวพุทธ 4) พุทธสหวิทยาการ และ 5) การใช้สื่อดิจิทัล รูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทฺตฺโต มุ่งเน้นการฟื้นฟูพระพุทธศาสนาให้กลับสู่แก่นแท้แห่งการปฏิบัติ เพื่อธำรงรักษาพระพุทธศาสนา มี 4 รูปแบบ 1) การปฏิบัติตามพระธรรมวินัยอย่างเคร่งครัด 2) การถือธุดงควัตร 3) การจาริกไปในสถานที่ต่าง ๆ และ 4) การสร้างศาสนทายาทอย่างมีคุณภาพ การวิเคราะห์รูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทตฺโต เป็นการนำหลักปฏิบัติของท่านมาประยุกต์สู่กระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ โดยยึดถือพระธรรมวินัยอย่างเคร่งครัด เพื่อใช้เป็นเครื่องมือพัฒนาปัญญา การธุดงค์เป็นวัตรเป็นการเชื่อมโยงกับการดูแลสุขภาพจิต โดยนำหลักธรรมมาประยุกต์ให้สอดคล้องกับบริบทในการสร้างชุมชนที่เข้มแข็ง ขณะที่การจาริกสถานที่ต่าง ๆ ถือเป็นบริการวิชาการเชิงจิตวิญญาณ ที่ช่วยขยายการเข้าถึงพระพุทธศาสนาสู่กลุ่มสังคมกว้างขวาง ส่วนการสร้างศาสนทายาทคุณภาพนั้น เน้นการหล่อหลอมผู้นำที่มีภาวะผู้นำเด่นชัดและความฉลาดทางอารมณ์สูง และใช้สื่อดิจิทัลในการเผยแผ่ให้เกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด องค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับรูปแบบการเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาของพระอาจารย์มั่น ภูริทตฺโต ตามแนวกระบวนทัศน์ใหม่ ในรูปแบบของ SDAC Model ประกอบด้วย S (Self-Realization) การตระหนักรู้ในตนเอง, D (Disciples Training) การฝึกอบรมศิษย์ให้มั่นคงในธรรม, A (Adaptable Teaching) ปรับวิธีการสอนให้เหมาะสม, และ C (Community Engagement) การมีส่วนร่วมกับชุมชน
